Contempt notice served on Kasturirangan

The Uttarakhand High Court on Monday issued contempt notice to the former ISRO chief, K. Kasturirangan, and Secretary to Government of India (Department of Science and Technology) Thirumalachari Ramasami for not following its April 16 directive to review the two-year extension given to director of the Nainital-based Aryabhata Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) Ram Sagar, who is facing charges of irregularities in recent appointments at the institute. Mr. Kasturirangan chairs the institute.
