The Union government is ready to hear the views of four scientists, including the former ISRO Chairman, Madhavan Nair, who have been barred from government posts for their alleged role in the under-priced leasing of space spectrum to a private firm.
“We are ready to hear their points of view. Let them give their views,” Minister of State in the PMO V. Narayanasamy told PTI on Sunday.
Asked whether there was any move to revoke the decision, he said: “How can I say that now? Let them give their points of view first.”
C.N.R. Rao, who heads the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, said on Saturday that Mr. Nair and three other scientists were “thrown out like garbage.” In particular, he targeted Mr. Narayanasamy for his reported statement that the decision was taken to send a strong message to scientists that no wrongdoing would be tolerated.
