A two-member CBI team from Mumbai is in Gujarat to begin a fresh probe into the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

The CBI, which filed an FIR on Tuesday, has taken over the investigation from the State CID (Crime) as per last month’s Supreme Court order on a petition filed by Sohrabuddin’s brother Rubabuddin Sheikh.

The CBI is believed to have asked the State government to provide adequate space in either Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad for starting a camp office.
