BSF, Punjab Frontier, celebrating R-Day at Attari

Border Security Force, Punjab Frontier will celebrate the Republic Day in its golden jubilee year at the Joint Check Post (JCP) Attari here, from Saturday with colourful performances and fairs.

During this celebration, a series of events will be organised, open to the public, showcasing the role and tasks performed by the BSF as first line of defence for the country, a BSF official said.

The public, especially the schoolchildren, have been invited to Joint Check Post Attari, for witnessing the Weapons Exhibition and Mela (fair) with local handicrafts and eateries organised by the BSF.

Besides, it will be an education for them to understand the yeoman service provided by the brave bordermen in the service of nation both at the borders and in the hinterland, the official said.

On January 26, BSF’s Director-General D.K. Pathak, will also be present at JCP Attari area to review the operational situation of BSF on Punjab Border and interact with officers and jawans.

Later on, the BSF DG will inaugurate a large LED screen at the JCP Attari for the convenience of visitors who cannot be accommodated in the stadium to watch the Retreat Ceremony. He will also flag off two golf carts for facilitating senior citizens and release a DVD ‘Sarhad Ke Rakshak’ on this occasion.

This will be followed by cultural programmes.
