BJP workers target woman, fiancé in Meerut

April 13, 2017 10:20 pm | Updated 10:21 pm IST - MEERUT

A day after the Hindu Yuva Vahini barged inside a house and dragged out a man and his woman friend in Meerut, some workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) eve-teased a woman and thrashed her fiancé on Wednesday night in the same city.

According to the police complaint of the woman who works in a local bank in Meerut, she was eve-teased by a group of people close to the local BJP MLA, who thrashed her fiancé Hareesh and his brother Avneesh in front of the police personnel. Instead of listening to the harassed couple, the police locked the woman's fiancé and his brother for two hours at the behest of the BJP workers.

“The alleged BJP workers started accusing Hareesh to be a Romeo and later harassed and eve-teased me. They beat up Hareesh and Avneesh very badly,” the woman told mediapersons.
