“BJP will gain more ground if the ruling party continues to let loose its terror,” BJP national president Amit Shah said in Agartala on Saturday.

“BJP will gain more ground if the ruling party continues to let loose its terror,” BJP national president Amit Shah said in Agartala on Saturday.

BJP national president Amit Shah on Saturday said his party will form the next government in Tripura after defeating CPI(M)-led Left Front in Assembly elections slated for early 2018. He lambasted incumbent government for ‘failing in all fronts’ and entirely practicing ‘misrule’ in the State over past few decades.

Mr. Shah was given a rousing reception by party leaders and workers who thronged in thousands at the Agartala airport. In his two-day visit, Mr. Shah will formally announce the ‘Parivartan Yatra’.

Mr. Shah said his party will form the next government in Tripura through popular franchise in the next Assembly election. He said people of this northeastern State were eagerly waiting to see a change as the Left government has failed to deliver in all fronts.

“The communists are making desperate attempts to disturb growth of the BJP by terrorising people. But by doing so they are doubling strength of the BJP,” he asserted.

Snubbing the Left government headed by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, he claimed 65% people of the State are officially recognised in BPL (Below Poverty Line) category. Scene of unemployment is equally bizarre, he complained.

He lashed out at the State government for making 'false allegations of financial deprivation' and said after Modi government was installed at the Centre, the State was awarded ₹25,396 crore through the Finance Commission as well as ₹5,301 crores as a revenue deficit.

He also put up the ‘vote bank’ issue by suggesting that the CPI(M) is encouraging large-scale infiltration from Bangladesh to use them as a political tool.

To woo government employees of the State, Mr. Shah reiterated the party’s stand to extend pay scale as per Central government employees. When asked about political clamour on EVMs, he said it has become a fashion for the political parties to raise the issue after losing an election.

To another question Mr. Shah said, talks with the extremist quarters would not commence in Kashmir till the violence and killings are stopped.

Mr. Shah was engaged in hectic dialogues with State office-bearers, leaders of various organisation fronts and senor tribal leaders. He will travel to Kumarghat in north Tripura on May 7, 2017, to address a public rally.

Mr. Shah is accompanied by party general secretary Ram Madhav and secretary Rahul Sinha. Tripura police made massive security arrangements in view of Amit Shah’s visit.
