The BJP will hold an “extended” National Executive meeting here on September 25 to mark the conclusion of the birth centenary celebrations of its founder general secretary, Deendayal Upadhaya.

Big participation

The event will be held in Talkatora stadium with the party’s 281 Lok Sabha members, 56 Rajya Sabha members, close to 1,400 MLAs and nearly 250 Ministers from the States in attendance.

The meeting will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

In the normal course, the meeting is attended by fewer than 200 members of the party’s national executive, including special invitees.

Centenary fete

The centenary celebrations were kicked off last year at a national council meeting of the party in Kozhikode in Kerala, and it is expected that a special resolution may be moved on this occasion at the conclusion of the event.

A meeting of the office-bearers of the party will be held a day before the national executive meeting, where resolutions to be passed at the executive will be discussed.
