Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray’s anti-Bihari remarks created a furore in Bihar with political parties on Saturday asking the Centre to take strong action against him.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said: “Mr. Thackeray was in the habit of making inflammatory speeches, particularly against migrants from Bihar, to further his regional and chauvinistic political agenda.”

Criticising the Centre for its failure to take steps against Mr. Thackeray, Mr. Modi told reporters here that it appeared that he enjoyed the patronage of the Congress in Maharashtra.

The Janata Dal (United) said the Centre should take cognisance of his comments.

“The MNS chief has been spewing venom for past many years against north Indians, including those from Bihar, settled in Mumbai and Maharashtra,” JD(U) spokesman Neeraj Kumar said.

Referring to Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal, Mr. Kumar said the party, which had been a constituent of the UPA government for years, should put pressure on the Centre to act against Mr. Thackeray.

BJP leader Giriraj Singh said he should be booked on charges of sedition for attacking the unity and integrity of the country.

RJD spokesman Ramkripal Yadav took umbrage at MNS chief’s offensive and said the people of Bihar had the constitutional right to live in any part of the country.

PCC chief Chaudhary Mehboon Ali Kaiser said he had written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan protesting against the remarks of Mr. Thackeray.

NCP general secretary Tariq Anwar said Mr. Thackeray was trying to strengthen his political base in Maharashtra by playing out regional politics.

LJP president Ramvilas Paswan accused the MNS chief of launching a hate campaign and asked the Centre to take stringent action against him. “It is a constitutional right of all citizens to live in any part of the country and seek employment,” he said.

In another development, a case was filed against Mr. Thackeray in a court in Muzaffarpur district for the alleged hate speech made by him against Biharis.

There is a serious doubt whether Raj Thackeray has any idea of politics, human society and necessary cooperation among them in various productive activities. Most of his statements disquiet the people who have migrated to Mumbai threatening seriously the peaceful co-existence among multi-religious communities that were shaped historically for thousands of years.
Raj Thackeray, very clearly, exploits the ignorance of innocent common people to further his political gain by instilling in their minds venomous regionalism and religious fanaticism like that of the Shiv Sena. Instigating people in the name of regional and linguistic majoritarianism will bring no good to the people. Through fanaticism, he can do no good even to the Marathi speaking people for whose welfare Raj Thackeray claims to struggle.

Both Raj Thakrey and the Home minister Patil, should be arrested and
put behind bars. India belongs to all Indians.Mr.Thakrey should learn
a lesson from the Karnataka Home minister, who went to Assam to plead
the NE people to come back and not run away from Bangalore not because
there are no people to work here but because Karnataka people feel that
we are all Indians and this is our country.

The Government of Maharashtra is slave of Raj Thackeray... The Union
Government is shameless. I wonder how come neither the
President of India nor The Supreme Court of India takes suo moto
action against this Evil... Is every institution of our country DEAD
??? I cannot type anything against this or that, else Mr. Sibal will
get angry.. but this Demon Thackeray is spitting fire since 2006 and
no one ever cares. Even the People Of This Great Country are fine with
this as long as it doesn't affects your people or your own culture...
Am ashamed to belong to this land of hypocrites... Mother India must
be ashamed to have given birth to all of Us. Till date I only read how
we gave birth to the naxal movement and terrorism... but today by
being pushed on the other side of the coin, I can feel it first hand
what it takes for a man of love to become a man of terror !

According to article 19 of constitution of India, a citizen has the fundamental right to reside in any part of the territory of India. If fundamental rights are not guaranteed, President's rule must be imposed in Maharashtra.

Less than 2 months ago,I traveled in a train from Kanpur to Mumbai so full of passengers that I can find 2 persons sleeping under my seat on bare floor, the whole night I preferred to sit making place for others. So if such number travel to cities everyday in search of a living, I sincerely want the government to pay some more attention.
What we should be more concerned is the problem in the first case, not the way it is put up.

All these things are mainly done to gain popularity.. The more you talked
about him . The more he will get what he wants... Let's ignore him . Do not
do press conference ... Central Govt and Maharashtra Govt should tighten
nose around Raj . All this is nothing more than political stunt..

Is it wise for a Minister from Bihar to threat MUMBAI POLICE by saying that 'they will file a case of kidnapping', when MUMBAI POLICE catches a criminal in Bihar.

This kind of ridiculous act from a responsible leader is a great threat to unity of our Federal Sytem and an Insult of our Constitution.

This man needs to learn to behave in accordance with long stading gentleman's behaviuor. If he contiue spew venom, he and his organisation should be banned.

Freedom of speech is not a licence to abuse others.

As we are from South India, we consider Maharashtra as North India. When will union take action against these kind of people?

from:  Sel

Do not see anything unconstitutional by Raj. Constitution allows freedom
of speech . Bihar has a history of complete breakdown of law and order.
There is a culture of kidnapping for ransom and crime in that state .
Those criticising raj have a hand in bringing bihar to that level . All
these politicians have criminal cases against them. Instead of looking
at improving law and order and creating jobs they are letting more
people invade other states.

Raj Thackery knows that people of Bihar are too civilized and too
rational to demand that Raj Thackery be declared "infiltrator" outside
his home and demonstrate in front of his house. The tone Mr.
Thackery used should be outside vernacular of Indian politics.

Raj is right.Bihar Govt.has no right in interfering with the working of Maharashtra Govt.If the Mumbai Police are to first ask Bihar Govt.,then the rogues will alert their brersathen rogues in Bihar & Biharis in Mumbai who can escape to Gujarat,Bangalore or Chennai.UP & Bihar is exporting poverty & violence across the nation. The just produce children & sent then after 14 yrs to cities in India. For next 15 yrs, setup 70% Industries in Bihar & UP,20% in Orissa & Bengal. You will see a sea change in Indian polity, economic, culture for good. This is the only way forward

As per article 15 under fundamental rights No person should be discriminated on the ground of Place of birth also article 16 equal
opportunity to all Indians so no one has rights to ban the entry of
other state people. Also it hurts integrity of nation. And if one can
will do this then how come others states will allow, which will then
lead to no knowledge transfer (In ancient era Chinese use to come
Nalanda for sharing/ gaining knowledge). Also it will lead to more chaos
and loss of integrity.

These people specialize in gutter politics which makes social, moral and ethical values to stink. Hoooligans disturbing peace are prosecuted under Indian law while politicians who are consistently trying to break the fabric of our society for their personal political milage are roaming free. Are they above our legal system? No. Not at all. They are emboldened by the impotency of our judiciary system which is showing them unwaranted tolerance. Freedom of speech does not mean that any unsocial, demoralized, and unethical elements can be allowed to butcher national values in the power play of local political settings. Enforcement of law will put these politicians in their shoes because deep down they are nothing but cowards who do not have any respect or value for patriatosim and democracy

Centre is paralysed.
It has support of one leg from shiv sena and MNS.
They are afraid of capabilities of NORTH INDIANS.
Thackrey himself and his ancesstirs belong to MADHYA PRADESH and
ERESTWHILE BENGAL , the present BIHAR.
When he can abuse NORTH INDIANS then wrong are doing AUSTRALIANS,
AMERICANS, BRITANS,CANADIANS, FRENCH, and OTHERS in their countries.

In some cases, regional parties are having their own propaganda to
gain popularity. But, just to gain some cheap populatrity and to add
some more votes in their account, these politician can't be left
scotfree to make derogatory remark against people of a certain region
or religion. Shiv sena and MNS duo is having problem with everybody
(who either hails from other religion or region). The parent
company(read party) of MNS, i.e. Shiv sena, in past, had problems with
South Indians, Gujratis, Bengali, Muslims. Because Shiv sena has
targetted everybody in past, so to expand vote bank ,the child company
(party) i.e. MNS need a fresh vulnerable target and they got it, in
the form of Hindi-Speaking people (basically, North Indians). In a
recent speech, Raj told that he know only one religion and that is
"MAHARASTRA-DHARMA". Now, natural question arises, Doesn't he believes
in "HINDUSTAN-DHARMA" ? It is really sad to know that in our own
country, our own people are being treated as outsiders.

Raj is a bigger threat than the terrorism. we witness the power hunger people can go to such an extent to devide the country on regional and religious lines. we have already divided our country on these lines because two power hungers could not be dealt with by us in past. any such attempt must be dealt with iron hands and law should put such people behind bars, if possible.

What Raj sells on flooding Mumbai by North Indians might be for his
Political gain but what about the core planning problems which are
associated with Mumbai? How long Govt is going to allow Mumbai to
burst with human inflow? Why ruling Political Class is insensitive to
infrastructure problems of Mumbai? Why it's no more a sane person's
idea to travel in BEST/Locals & Why NO industrial development in
UP/MP/Bihar? Don't we know the purpose why North MPs want to be in
Mumbai? Kidding Marathis? North MPs in Mumbai wish to establish
themselves using Raj & viceversa.Even if Marathis KNOW that Raj will
derive political mileage by playing Marathi card, they will consciously
say Yes to MNS,since NCP/CI have not left any other choice. It's really
the ruling parties' choice towards top problems of Mumbai which is a
determinant! so far Raj is merely a Catalyst over Marathi's Reaction
to inactivity of NCP/CI but his longterm plans will work out with CI's
blessing U C, since CI wants to null ShivSena

In this country anyone can say anything, depicting a true tolerant
nature of this country. Tolerance for crime, for corruption and for
almost anything which comes in your mind.
People only with sane and rational voice would be suppressed. A true

Raj Thackeray is the son of soil. he belongs to "Maharashtra". Congress adopts this game plan to weaken the leaders of any movement and opp. parties. They said the same against K.Chandrasekhar rao of TRS party. After getting proved that Rao is from Telangana itself, congress kept its mouth shut. How is Raj responsible if Central Govt has not developed backward states. All the men in country can't go to Mumbai for making a living, what will happen to Maharashtrians? How is it right, when others ask the percentage of jobs in Maharashtra? Today Mumbai city has less than 30% Maharashtrian and they have become non-locals in their own city. Question or pull down your state governments, don’t cry on Raj. Lets talk justice and only justice.

politics for their own interest. what raj Thackeray have been doing is

It very sad to hear that there is sedition being hatched against certain part of the people by those who call themselves to be patriot and the savior of the people. These people are doing nothing but demolishing the integrity of the people and playing with their emotions. As per Indian Constitution, every citizen has right to settle any part of the country and earn living. Why these people are attacking people vice verse the Constitution of India. They are hate mongers and their prime duty is to spew hate and brutality. The Government must take stringent action against this Satan, Raj Thackrey for his comment against Bihari.
