Reiterating his unequivocal support to BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday said that he would undertake a yatra across India to urge people to vote for Narendra Modi.

“We need to spread the message of ‘Vote for Modi.’ The yatra will aim for economic justice and freedom from a corrupt rule. We will reach out to at least 1 crore people,” he told reporters here. The country-wide journey would start on March 23, he said, while emphasising that he had “no political ambition.”

The 2014 Lok Sabha elections would mark a turn of events for India, he said. “It is certain that the Congress will lose. And the party which will win will bring stability and accountability to the country,” he said. “Ordinary people will do extraordinary things,” he said, referring to Mr. Modi.

Questioning the Aam Aadmi Party’s move to take Congress support in Delhi, he said, “Arvind Kejriwal says he wants to end VIP culture, dynasty rule, corruption and bring in honest people to politics. Doesn’t Narendra Modi fulfil these criteria? Why isn’t he supporting him?”

“He should answer why he is supporting the Congress which has turned out to be the most corrupt party,” he said. “AAP has made a deal with the Congress. If Mr. Kejriwal has the guts, why is he not putting Sheila Dikshit in jail?” Ramdev asked.
