Yogendra Yadav, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party’s National Executive, said here on Thursday that it was an insult to be asked to choose between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister.
“I am often asked to choose between BJP’s Prime Minister nominee Mr. Modi and Congress Vice-President Mr. Gandhi…Corruption in the country today has two faces — Congress and BJP. We want neither Mr. Modi nor Mr. Gandhi. We want an Aam Admi,” ” he said addressing AAP’s first ever public rally here.
“The Congress’ record in corruption is obvious. Everybody knows it is corrupt. But not many know about the Gujarat Chief Minister. One has to examine how he governs the State. Corporate houses are allocated land at throwaway prices, whereas defence establishment like the Indian Air Force is asked to pay the market price. The Modi government even refused to give land to the widow of a Kargil war hero,” he said.
On the Reliance and KG Basin row, Mr. Yadav said, “One wonder why the BJP which jumps to criticise the Congress at the drop of a hat is mum on the massive corruption involving the Reliance Group in the gas pricing row. One would get a bravery award if he or she asks Mr. Modi about his silence on the KG Basin controversy.”
Mr. Yadav accused the UPA government of giving undue benefits to the Reliance Group in fixing gas prices.
He alleged that the BJP came to power in Karnataka using the funds generated from illegal mining in Bellary district.
