Army Chief General Dalbir Singh has called off his Bhutan visit, which was scheduled to begin from Monday.

Army sources said that it was likely that Gen. Singh might visit the Himalayan Kingdom later at a mutually agreeable time.

The decision to put off the visit came at a time when the matter of incursion by Chinese troops in Chumar area in Ladakh still remains to be sorted out.

The face-off has been continuing for more than a week and even after Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue with the visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping.
