Consequent to the Supreme Court giving the green signal for the High Court to deliver its verdict on the Ayodhya title suits, the All-India Organisation of Imams of Mosques (AIOIM) has called upon the “lakhs of Imams of mosques” all over the country to give a message of “peace, communal harmony and national integration” in their sermons before the Friday prayers.
A communication issued by the AIOIM appealed to the Imams to ensure that anti-social elements did not disturb peace: “This is our duty and moral responsibility.”
“Stay calm”
In a simultaneous appeal, the All-India Milli Council asked Muslims to stay calm and “not celebrate the judgment [in case of a favourable judgment] and not mourn it [in case of an adverse judgment].”
AIMC General Secretary Mohammad Manzoor Alam welcomed the Supreme Court's rejection of the plea to postpone the verdict and said: “There is no point in being afraid of justice. The people's faith in the judiciary would not be belied.”

Today is Thursday, a working day, when millions of progressive, peace loving and secular Indian’s would have been at work at offices, banks, businesses, contract jobs etc etc. The schools and colleges are closed. This is almost a self-imposed bandh out of abundant precaution, but it certainly won’t end here !
Irrespective of the verdict, the opportunity for mischief, damage and violence is abundant given the right-wingers in Hindu and Muslim communities who will try to extract maximum milage from the event and consolidate their control and promote their nefarious agenda.
The silver lining in the cloud is that each one of us can make a big difference by interjecting and injecting sense in the discussion that we hear around us.
If we hear somebody in the office, neighbourhood, bus, library, queue, college make a hate remark, counter him or her by saying something positive, benigh about the country and the progress we are making. Say it doesn’t matter, say the country has moved on, say the old generation is to be blamed for it, say progress is more important, say there are millions of peace loving Hindus, Muslims, Christians in this country.
It is absolutely important that we counter, we discourage, we frown - yes, use ‘frown power’ and we use our voice our expression to drown the voice of the divise.
Wake up Indians, each one get one - counter the negative person amidst us - we need to reclaim the nation from the clutches of these violent maniacs who are out to prey on peace and progress !
I like the way they have appealed... Sounds like moderates are getting louder.
In my opinion... whoever wins this case, India will still lose. Feeding the poor is much more greater than building place of worship. I am sure our politician will create another problem. Hope we can isolate relegion from politics.
Yes, we accept court's verdict Positively. Nation's integrity and judicial system must be respected.
