The State government through a GO formed a six-member committee headed by the CCLA and consisting of Principal Secretaries in April 2012 to find reasons for the delay in completing the Hinduja’s 1040 MW thermal power plant near the city.
The GO, No. 561 dated April 13, 2012 was issued by then Principal Secretary (revenue) Anil Chandra Punetha after the Public Accounts Committee sought a comprehensive report with specific replies to the 23 questions it raised since the Hinduja National Power Corporation Limited (HNPCL) failed to start the work on the project. However, the answers to many important questions as mentioned in the GO No. 561 are important but the fate of GO is not known, said YSR Congress district president G. Amarnath here on Monday.
“No report was given to the government and this GO cannot be deemed to be cancelled since it is still on government website,” he said.
What people and the large number of farmers and others who had lost their lands due to the Hinduja power plant should know was whether the committee had found answers for all the questions raised, Mr. Amarnath and other YSRC leaders said.
