: The YSR Congress has decided to file cases against the ruling Telugu Desam Party for “going back on its promises,” on June 8, the day on which Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in two years ago.
Accordingly, the party leadership has asked its leaders and cadre to file cases against the ruling party in all the constituency headquarters for “cheating the people with false promises.”. Though it was proposed to file cases on June 2, the State formation day, it was deferred as the party preferred to organise the protest on the day the Chief Minister took over the reins, senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana said.
‘Commercial agenda’
Mr. Satyanarayana alleged that there was a commercial agenda behind all the schemes launched by Mr. Naidu, including the construction of the capital. The ruling party had followed the same yardstick in the selection of its Rajya Sabha members where loyal party workers were set aside and tickets were “sold” to two businessmen. “The TDP government has scant respect for democratic values. Senior TDP leaders like J.R. Pushparaj are criticising the party leadership for its decisions,” he said. Mr. Satyanarayana the government’s claim on reconstruction of the State rings hollow as it comes at a time when it is indulging in dismantling the existing infrastructure. The YSRC leader, however, welcomed nomination filed by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu from the State. There were several pending promises, including the SCS and separate railway zone to the State and expressed the hope that the former would focus on delivering those promises, he added.
