The YSR Congress leaders were agitated over Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy’s comment that the YSRC activists had no choice but to campaign with a photo of “Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy behind the bars” in the coming days.
The YSRC leaders dared Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy to stick to his current stance of targeting the YSR family at the time of intense campaign in the coming 2014 elections, as this would further seal the Congress party’s fate permanently.
Refuting the Minister’s allegations at a press conference here on Wednesday, YSRC central election committee member Kakani Govardhan Reddy and Nellore district president M. Muralidhar said that the Finance Minister once again revealed his double standards.
They said that the people of Nellore district were closely observing as to how the Anam family changed colours when the YSR family was in the power and after it was out of power.
They asked Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy to remember what comments he made when there was a demand for making Jagan the Chief Minister. It was the Minister who said that the State would be turned into a cauldron of fire if Jagan was not given his due, they said.
People’s support
Mr. Muralidhar asked as to how the Anam family could continue to claim people’s support even after their supposed magic and influence could not help the Congress party in the recent by-elections to the Kovur Assembly segment and the Nellore Parliamentary constituency.
