YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma on Wednesday accused the Kiran Kumar Reddy government of totally neglecting people’s welfare and dubbed ‘Amma Hastam’ scheme as ‘Maya Hastam’.

Addressing a gathering at Addagutta in Secunderabad after listening to their grievances, she alleged that the government was neglecting welfare schemes and charged it with remaining indifferent to people’s problems. She said former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajaskhara Reddy knew the suffering of people and had introduced several schemes to mitigate their suffering.

He not only introduced them but also implemented them successfully as he was sincere. But the State Government was not concerned about people’s problems and has been imposing taxes. She said ‘Amma Hastam’ was introduced with an eye on the elections.

Earlier speaking at May Day function at the party office, she said YSR CP was committed to welfare of workers. She said workers were happy during YSR regime but were in distress now as the government has been forcing closure of the industries by imposing power cuts. More than four lakh cottage and small industries have been closed due to lack of power.
