Youth washed away at Tupilipalem beach

December 21, 2014 11:40 pm | Updated 11:40 pm IST - NELLORE:

A young man, aged around 20 years, was washed away by weaves, when he, along with his friends, went for a picnic to the beach near Tupilipalem in Vakadu mandal on Saturday evening.

Hours later, the body of Balaji, said to be a native of Gudur town, was found in the sea waters under a bridge near the beach. His relatives were informed about the incident.

Such deaths have become a cause for concern, with the incidents of drowning and getting washed away on the beaches occurring now and then. The local people blame it on the lack of awareness among the visitors and absence of security mechanisms.

Against this background, the tourists and local visitors have been asked to visit only the popular and well-developed beaches in the district. Mypadu beach has already been developed with a lot of facilities and security measures in place. Expert swimmers and local fishermen join the rescue operations, whenever incidents of drowning and getting washed away take place.
