World Spiritual Fest kicks off

The three-day ‘World Spiritual Fest’ under the aegis of AP Tourism, began on a colourful note at Shilparamam here on Friday.

A mega Yoga event which was conducted in the morning, turned out to be a massive highlight with a huge number of enthusiasts participating.

The Tirupati unit of Art of Living Foundation, promoted by Sri Sri Ravishankar, conducted the camp. Yoga trainers S.V. Suresh (Tirupati), Durga (Vijayawada) and Kranthi (Bengaluru) conducted the proceedings and explained the health benefits of practising Yoga. The participants performed a number of breathing Asanas and Surya Namaskar.

In panel discussion, Dravidian University former Vice-Chancellor P.V. Arunachalam, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Vice-Chancellor V. Muralidhara Sharma and project management consultant Vamsi spoke on the spiritual values enshrined in the scriptures and passed on through generations.

TUDA Chairman G. Narasimha Yadav, Collector P.S. Pradyumna, Joint Collector P.S. Girisha, AP Tourism Regional Director Jayaprakash, Divisional Manager R.V. Suresh Kumar Reddy, District Tourism Officer Chandramouli were present at the inaugural formally conducted in the evening.

Later, famed percussionist Drums Sivamani enthralled the audience with his foot-tapping numbers.
