Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya vowed on Friday that she would not rest until the Silpa brothers publicly announced their departure from politics for facing defeat in the Nandyal byelection.

Asserting that they vowed to quit politics if they were defeated in the byelection, Ms. Akhila Priya said that former Minister and YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy and his brother and former MLC Silpa Chakrapani Reddy “went into hiding” after the TDP’s emphatic victory. “Where are the Silpa brothers who boasted that they would prove their masculinity by winning the byelection,” she said at a felicitation function in Nandyal. The Silpa brothers had gone into hiding after losing to her father Bhuma Nagi Reddy in Nandyal in the 2014 elections, she said.

The Silpa Cooperative Society and bank were started to dupe the people, she alleged.

TDP activists felicitated Ministers Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Kaluva Srinivasulu, and Ms. Akhila Priya and Nandyal MLA-elect Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy in the function.
