Women U-16 cricket team bags South Zone tourney

Andhra Cricket Association women Under-16 cricket team has made the association proud by winning South Zone Championship held recently.

The girls coached by New Zealand cricketer Maria Fahey and national coach Srinivas Reddy teamed up brilliantly to outsmart their rivals and bag the trophy.

Felicitation function

At a felicitation function held on the premises of ACA Women Cricket Academy at JKC College, secretary of ACA and Narsapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju said that the players deserve all the facilities provided at the academy, the first-of-its-kind in the country.

Advising the players not to be carried away by the victory, he asked them to work hard and try to play the game at the highest level and represent the country.

Mr. Gangaraju also complimented Mithali Raj for being awarded Padma Shri.

Cash prize

The Andhra Cricket Association secretary also announced a cash prize of Rs.2 lakh to the winning team.

Vice-president of Andhra Cricket Association and chairman of Women Cricket Academy, J. Murali Mohan, Director, Andhra Cricket Association operations, M.S.K. Prasad were present.
