‘Women empowerment vital for development’

Women empowerment is a vital intervention to ensure the development of a society, SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor B. Vengamma has said. Speaking at the regional seminar organised by Academy of Grassroots Studies and Research of India (AGRASRI) and Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) on the eve of Women’s Day on Friday, she lauded as ‘invaluable’ the role of women in various spheres of domestic, public and professional lives and added that the time had come to prove their mettle in governing and decision-making domains.
