Yet another person attempted suicide demanding the Congress high command to expedite the formation of Telangana State in Nalgonda district.

Potlapalli Mamtha, 24 ,a B.Com. graduate from Pedda Kaparthi village of Chityal mandal in the district, attempted suicide by dousing herself with kerosene and setting afire at their residence on Monday morning.

Her elder brother Srinivas said his sister had been in a state of distress over the delay in the formation of the Telangana for the past few days. “Though she had completed her graduation in 2010, she did not get a government job and she is currently teaching in a private school for which she is being paid meagre salary.

Mr. Srinivas said Mamtha always hoped to get a good job if Telangana State was formed as her previous attempts had failed. Mamtha resorted to suicide when she and her mother were at home. She was shifted to Nalgonda Government Hospital.

TJAC convener M. Kodandaram visited the hospital to console the kin of Mamtha. Superintendent of the Hospital K. Harinath said that Mamtha suffered 100 per cent burns and her survival chances were bleak.
