A 20-year-old woman, Anu Chandana, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself and her 3-year-old daughter Rushika at her residence in Kovur town near here on Saturday. Both were found hanging in her bedroom even as her relatives from parents’ side complained of dowry harassment as the reason for the extreme step. Originally from Ramannapalem village, Anu Chandana married one Sankar of Kovur town three years ago. The death of Anu Chandana, who was also reportedly pregnant, cast a pall of gloom in the locality even as her parents arrived at the scene and wept inconsolably.
