A woman, who approached the police over a family dispute, has alleged that the sub-inspector was harassing her sexually, and lodged a complaint with the police.

The victim, who went to the Nuzvid police station recently alleged that SI Venkata Kumar was harassing her. Following the allegation, Krishna district Superintendent of Police (SP) Sarvasreshta Tripathi ordered an inquiry against the sub-inspector.

“The woman did not file any written complaint or met any officer, but had sent a message through phone. However an inquiry is on into the allegations,” said a police officer.

In another instance a few days ago, Hanuman Junction SI Vijaya Kumar was sent to Vacancy Reserve (VR), for allegedly having an extramarital affair with a woman.

The woman’s husband lodged a complaint with the superior officers over the affair of the SI with his wife and their indecent behaviour with some evidence. Inquiry is going on in the second case too, the SP said.
