Wind power tariff fixed at Rs. 4.83 per unit

The Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) has notified the tariff for new wind power projects entering into power purchase agreements (PPA) with the State government. Accordingly, the levelised generic preferential tariff per unit has been pegged at Rs. 4.83 without considering the accelerated depreciation (AD) and it would be Rs. 4.25 with AD. The tariff will be applicable from July 31 this year to March 31 next year.

The Commission said it had considered various parameters like tariff period, useful life and capital cost for finalising the tariff. The cost was worked out after taking into account factors like capital cost pegged at Rs. 6 crore per MW including the evacuation cost, operation & maintenance expenses of Rs. 8.57 lakh per MW and capacity utilisation factor pegged at 23.5 per cent.

The commission has also considered other factors like depreciation, return on equity, interest cost on debt, interest on working capital, debt equity ratio and discount rate before finalising the tariff.

The tariff will be applicable from July 31 this year to March 31 next year.
