Data and documentation, map views, photographs and routes to tourist destinations in the district can now be accessed from anywhere in the globe by downloading an Android-based appliance, ‘Magnificent Kadapa’. It is an App with a colourful interface developed by the Kadapa district administration.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the App at a public meeting at Vontimitta on Thursday night. Lauding Collector K.V. Ramana’s initiative in developing the App to promote tourism in the district, Mr. Naidu said details of the App should be forwarded to the government for developing a similar App that provides data on tourist destinations across the State.

“The Android App facilitates selection of tourist spots through slider menus to browse comprehensive data on places of historic importance and routes to those places, web-linked external documentation, photographs and GPS-based Google Map views,” Mr. Ramana said.

Two variants of the App – English and Telugu – can be downloaded from Google PlayStore by searching for apk files ‘MagnificentKadapa.apk’ and ‘MagnificentKadapaTelugu.apk’. The brochure on the App can be downloaded from http://kadapa.nic.in.

The App has data on Sri Kodandarama Swamy Brahmotsavams at Vontimitta and places such as Adapur, Ameen Peer Dargah, Attirala, Brahmamgari Matham, Chintakunta, Danavulapadu, Devunikadapa, Gandi, Nandalur, Polathala, Pushpagiri and Tallapaka. There is also data on ancient forts at Siddhavatam and Gandikota, Lankamala sanctuary, Rayachoti and Shilparamam.
