TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu called upon people to return the Telugu Desam back to power in order to put an end to the political uncertainty and insecurity in the State.
Addressing a road show in Allagadda town on Sunday, Mr. Naidu said the conditions were deteriorating in the State since the Congress government came to power eight years ago.
He accused Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and his family of unleashing a reign of terror in order to amass wealth and finish his political foes. The family engaged hardcore criminals like Mangali Krishna, Bhanu Kiran and Maddelacheruvu Suri to perpetrate murders. If Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy came to power all his supporters with criminal background would enjoy cabinet berths while there would be no room for decency and rule of law.
He recalled that the TDP had given utmost priority to law and order and did not spare even own partymen when implementation of law and order warranted it.
During the Congress rule the image of Telugu people had dipped with persons like Gulam Nabi Azad ruling the roost and summoning the Chief Minister every weekend. He wanted public to recall the significance of the State during NTR time at national level.
Mr. Naidu said if the party came to power, the TDP would accord the highest priority to welfare of the youth and farmers.
Employment generation would be given due importance while farmers would be supplied fertilizer at reduced prices.
He said the Congress government was boasting of Re. 1-a-kg rice scheme while the price of salt touched Rs. 20 and pulses Rs. 80. With the meagre wages, the poorer sections were unable to buy a wholesome meal at least once in a day.
He asked party cadres not to give any importance to deserting of Bhuma Nagireddy family as the party network was intact in the constituency and asked them to support I. Rampulla Reddy who was named the party candidate in the by-election.
Party leaders Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, K.E. Prabhakar, Somisetty Venkateswarlu, Masala Padmaja and others spoke.
Kadapa Special Correspondent adds: Mr. Naidu who took part in road shows in Kadapa district, accused YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy of encouraging murder politics and criminals.
The TDP chief alleged that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy amassed Rs. 1 lakh crores by abusing power while his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was Chief Minister. “He minted money and was now going on Odarpu yatra,” he remarked.
Free power supply
Mr. Naidu promised nine-hour free power supply if the party regains power in 2014. On the third day of his tour of Kadapa district, Mr. Naidu reiterated the promises of free rice, health scheme to cover all diseases, enhanced pensions, pensions for physical challenged and other sops to the people. Mr. Naidu who made a night halt in State guest house in Kadapa, held a roadshow in Machupalle, Moolapalle, Takkolu, Siddhavatam, Kammapalle and Bhakrapet in Rajampet constituency on Sunday.
The TDP had ensured development of downtrodden and weaker sections in the State.
The TDP alone can give a stable rule and proper administration, he said and alleged that development in the State was tardy due to the Congress misrule. The government failed to curb the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities. He appealed to the people to elect the party candidate of Rajampet Pasupuleti Brahmaiah.
