July 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - VIZIANAGARAM:

Villagers of Kongavanipalem revenue panchayat on Monday obstructed the survey of land by officials for the proposed international airport in Bhogapuram mandal.

According to sources, a two-member team from RITES Ltd., Revenue Inspector K. Satyanarayana and some local surveyors on Monday visited Kongavanipalem, which is among the eight revenue villages chosen for the construction of the airport. While they were fixing the points, villagers reached the spot in huge numbers and forced them to suspend work. “The team members returned without any argument,” Mr. Satyanarayana said.
