Vigilance officials seize fertilizers in Andhra Pradesh

Sleuths of Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) Department conducted raid on a fertilizers shop in the town and confiscated stocks following complaints that the owner was selling fertilisers at higher prices.

The vigilance team comprising Assistant Director Ch. Srinivasa Rao and Circle Inspector P. Rajesh, raided Lakshmi Srinivasa Traders on SBI Road on Tuesday raided the shop based on the complaint.

They seized 43 metric tonnes of fertilizers valued at about Rs.8.5 lakh and some documents. A case under Section 6 (a) of Essential Commodities Act was registered against shop owner T. Srinivasulu, said Krishna District Regional Vigilance and Enforcement Officer (RVEO) Y.T. Naidu.

The Avanigadda police too booked a criminal case against the accused and took up investigation, the RVEO added.
