Vigilance department detects ₹346 crore revenue loss in East Godavari

Regional Officer says action recommended against the erring officials

Vigilance and Enforcement Regional Officer T. Ramprasada Rao has said that they have identified ₹346.56 crore of revenue in East Godavari district which has to be recovered by the government from different departments and institutions for the last one year and recommended action against the erring officials to the government.

Addressing media conference here on Saturday, he said that during their raids in last one year from October 30, they have recovered ₹144.07 crore involved in illegal layouts, fertilizers and urea kept in black market, panchyat layout which were given permission without leaving space for parks, arrears to be paid by educational institutions, illegal gutka sale and other illegal businesses. He said the illegal layouts, include one in Ramanaiahpeta in Kakinada, Venkatapuram layout in Rajanagaram mandal and other properties.

Replying to a question, he said that they have conducted raids on sand ramps, and quarry mines in the district in last one year. He said that during the Vigilance Awareness Week they have conducted competitions for school and college students and distributed prizes on Saturday. Vigilance Inspectors Satya Kishore and T. Rammohan Reddy also participated in the press meet.
