Two swine flu deaths in Hyderabad

Two more have succumbed to H1N1 virus in the State Capital. The victims, J. Raja Babu (42) and Sunil Kumar (38), died on Friday and Saturday respectively. Another person, Srikanth (20) died at Gandhi Hospital on Saturday morning with suspected symptoms of swine flu. The swine flu toll in Andhra Pradesh has now swelled to six.

J. Raja Babu, a resident of Ramnagar, was brought to Gandhi Hospital from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and died on Friday night while Sunil Kumar died at Aware-Global Hospitals, L. B. Nagar, on Saturday morning, authorities said. Both the deceased died due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and swine flu.

In all, till date, the authorities have confirmed 247 cases of swine flu and five fatalities in Andhra Pradesh. Another patient admitted to Aware-Global Hospitals is in a critical condition since last one week. All the five persons, who died of swine flu in Hyderabad, were locals and had no travel history. The H1N1 virus is now fully localised in Andhra Pradesh, officials acknowledge.
