Two killed, eight injured in two mishaps in Prakasam district

Two persons were killed and eight others injured in two different mishaps in Prakasam district on Thursday.

Eight pilgrims, including a boy from Srikakulam were injured when a private tourist bus proceeding to Srisailam overturned after hitting a culvert at Pottipalli within Giddalur police station limits, Deputy Superintendent of Police G. Ramanjaneyulu said.  The pilgrims were returning after visiting Kanipakkam in Chittoor district when the mishap occurred, Giddalur Sub-Inspector Y. Srinivasa Rao said.

In another mishap, a lorry driver was killed as also cleaner of another Guntur-bound stationary lorry when the driver lost control of his vehicle and dashed against the stationary lorry at Cumbum, the DSP added.
