Sambasiva Rao on Monday said that the TTD proposed to hold discussions with the Reserve Bank and other nationalised banks on the disposal of foreign notes and coins, cut notes, old coins and notes out of circulation which were offered in the temple hundis and stocked at the parakamani.

After inspecting the coin stock at the TTD administrative building here, the EO said the TTD had plans to set up a new complex for the Parakamani to count the hundi collection of the Srivari temple, etc, every day.

He directed the officials at the parakamani to make it dust-free and also have a new ambience and working environment.

Mr. Sambasiva Rao also directed officials of the Marketing Department to maintain a minimum 15 days stock of essential commodities like rice, dal, cashew nuts etc to facilitate hassle free service to pilgrims.

Cold storage

Addressing his weekly review meeting at Tirupati on Monday morning, Mr. Rao directed officials to also build a cold storage within a month for preserving perishable goods and also to take steps to provide copper and silver dollar mementos of Lord Venkateswara to devotees at the earliest.

The EO also instructed the officials to speed up civil works and tree plantation works at the Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama temple and also to complete the repairs to the TTD kalyana mantapams in all the districts.

The TTD is also facilitating a 24x7 call centre for the purpose of helping lakhs of devotees visiting the temple each day.
