TRS, Congress misleading people: TDP

April 25, 2014 10:21 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 07:19 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has accused both Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Congress of trying to deceive people of Telangana with their disinformation campaign claiming that social justice is only possible with them.

Chairman of TDP’s election campaign committee in Telangana, R. Krishnaiah, who is also named as the party’s chief ministerial candidate, alleged that the TRS was planning to loot Telangana as the Congress did all these years by deceiving people with false promises in the name of sentiment.

Now that the statehood to Telangana was achieved it was time for reconstruction of the region which would become a new State on June 2. Only a party with proven track record of planned development, TDP, could do it. Faulting TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Congress leaders’ claims that it was they who had achieved Telangana, Mr. Krishnaiah said it was possible because TDP’s two letters given in its favour and the cooperation of BJP in Parliament.

“Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s anger against TDP is that the party has consolidated BC vote in its favour by announcing a BC leader as the Chief Minister of Telangana”, Mr. Krishnaiah said. He sought to know whether TRS had ever spoken on the issues of BCs and unemployed youth either in the Assembly or in Parliament.

It was TDP that was committed to welfare and empowerment of BCs from the beginning, Mr. Krishnaiah said and claimed that the TDP-BJP combine would come to power with handsome majority. He cautioned the BCs to realise the ploy of the TRS and Congress and help TDP make a BC Chief Minister of Telangana.

Citing the promises of TDP included in its election manifesto, Mr. Krishnaiah reiterated that the party would fill 3 lakh vacancies immediately after coming to power by setting Telangana Public Service Commission.
