Traffic curbs for Venkaiah’s visit

The city traffic police have imposed restrictions on certain roads in view of the visit of Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu to the city on Saturday.

According to a press release, traffic restrictions will be in force from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. between Prakasam Barrage in city and Vijayawada Airport in Gannavaram. Motorists have been asked to avoid the Kolkata-Chennai NH and use alternative roads.

A huge rally will be organised from Kesarapalli to Police Control Room junction in the city. Motorists will be allowed to use these main junctions on the route that includes Ramavarappadu Ring Road, Benz Circle until 30 minutes before the rally passes the junction.

Police asked the Group-I aspirants to reach their respective examination centres one hour before the reporting time to avoid last minute troubles in reaching the centres.

On the other hand, heavy vehicles will be diverted from 6 a.m. to 12 noon through different routes not touching the NH.
