April 02, 2014 01:03 am | Updated May 21, 2016 07:42 am IST - HYDERABAD:

According top priority to law and order, providing a pregnant woman the right to go to hospital of her choice for delivery and promoting waterway navigation in river Godavari will be among the election promises of Telangana BJP in its manifesto to be released soon.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, former Union Minister and BJP national executive member Ch. Vidyasagar Rao said whenever any terrorist incident occurred elsewhere in the country, its roots were traced to Hyderabad. Modernisation of police force and curbing terrorism would be on top of the agenda.

Empowerment of women would also be an important focus area in the manifesto. It includes providing pregnant woman the right to go to hospital of her choice for delivery. A law would be enacted to impose fine and even imprisonment if any hospital refuses to admit a pregnant woman for delivery.

Mr. Rao said the Telangana BJP leaders played a key role in the formation of Telangana State and would similarly be in the forefront in its development.
