Tirupati offender in Hyderabad cheating case?

B. Siva alias Siva Swamy, a self-styled godman accused of involvement in a cheating case in Hyderabad, has a criminal history in Tirupati too.

A native of Kuppam mandal in Chittoor district, Siva is known to cash in on the superstitions of people. On June 6, 2014, he duped a railway employee Radhakrishna Yadav, resident of Krishna Reddy Nagar in Auto Nagar area, to the tune of Rs.63 lakh. He had extracted the amount with the promise of doubling it by performing ‘Lakshmi Puja’. However, he decamped with the money when the devotees swooned on consuming the drug-laced ‘Prasadam’.

Property recovered

Based on a complaint filed by the victim, the Alipiri police booked a case and arrested him on August 22, besides recovering the property On Thursday, the Alipiri police have forwarded the case details to Hyderabad, upon a request from the station dealing with the case.
