Three killed in two accidents on NH5 in Prakasam

In one of the mishaps, two brothers were killed and three others injured when their car dashed against a tipper-lorry at Ulavapadu.

Three persons were killed and nine others injured in two different mishaps on the Chennai-Kolkata highway in Prakasam District on Sunday. Eighty-year-old Sanjeeva Rao was killed and six other family members injured when their car jumped off the flyover on the expressway after hitting the divider near the Jarugumalli Crossroads at Tangutur.

In the other mishap, two brothers were killed and three others injured when their car dashed against a tipper-lorry at Ulavapadu.

Sanjeeva Rao and his family members hailing from Pydachintapadu village, near Eluru were proceeding to their aqua-pond at Sangam in Nellore District when the mishap occurred.

The deceased in the mishap at Ulavapadu were identified as G.Krupakar Rao (45) and G.Adam (43), police said. Eight of the injured in both the mishaps were rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences here, while the ninth person who sustained simple injuries was treated at Ulavapadu.

The brothers who hailed from China Irlapadu in Kanigiri mandal, were returning from Chennai when the accident took place.
