Third tranche of farm loan waiver this year: CM

‘Seeking help from all quarters to better the lot of people’

The government will release the third instalment of loan waiver for farmers this year, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Wednesday.

Addressing a ‘chaitanya sadassu’ here, Mr. Naidu said his government would not increase power tariff but would strive to reduce it by giving an impetus to solar power generation and ensuring round-the-clock power supply. He inaugurated Bala Bharathi school built by the Orvakal Mahila Mandali Samakhya equipped with 60 digital classrooms, laboratories, library and other amenities. Lauding Samakhya president Vijaya Bharathi, the Chief Minister said the school was built perfectly and better than the corporate schools. The government would sponsor 25 poor students to the school.

Mr. Naidu said he was interacting with the World Bank, ILO and companies like Ernst & Young, and Iowa University to acquire technological know-how for benefiting the people. DWCRA members Hymavathi of Hussainpuram and Zubeda of Kalva village said they were married befere they turned 15 and widowed by the age of 20, but educated their children by joining the DWCRA groups. A farmer, L. Narasimha Reddy of Nandikotkur, said he took up natural farming and achieved good yields with lesser investment.

District Collector S. Satyanarayana said natural farming would be taken up on 15,000 hectares in 50 clusters this year, as against 3,000 hectares in 11 clusters last year. An app was being introduced to indicate the pesticide to be used for different crops.

‘Committed to

clean governance’

Promising honest and committed governance, the Chief Minister said he started Parishkara Vedika with toll-free number 1100 to resolve complaints of corruption, denial of assistance and irregularities in implementation of schemes and benefits to people.

Mr. Naidu gave away a cheque for ₹41.73 crore to the District Mahila Samakhya for assisting 1,697 women groups.
