Over a dozen centrally located places here have now got a complete aesthetic look as the walls in the area are now adorned with paintings on the themes of natural scenery, wildlife, national leaders, patriotic personalities and so on.
This keeps publicity organisations from pasting posters. “All this is taken up as part of the smart city project. Beautification and cleanliness are important components here. These efforts are serving their purpose very well and it will be extended to other important areas as well,” said District Collector R. Mutyala Raju.
Initially, the wall paintings were taken up at arterial areas and junctions where there will be rush of daily shoppers and regular floating population from the rural parts in the district. The Vijayamahal Gate rail underbridge is one such significant road which witnesses high traffic.
