The “match” on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was over and statehood to Telangana could not be stopped now even if Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu joined hands, TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao said here on Thursday.
Senior leader of BJP L.K. Advani had announced that Parliament was not prorogued with a view to take up Telangana Bill in the first week of February and there was no stopping it since the ruling and Opposition parties were in favour of it, the TRS chief said after releasing the annual diary of Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association.
Taking a dig at Mr. Kiran Reddy, Mr. Rao said he had lost people’s respect as the last Chief Minister of A.P. due to his “political tricks” so also Mr. Chandrababu Naidu with his meaningless argument against bifurcation.
“People of Telangana should felicitate both the leaders after the new State is formed for their spoilsport attitude,” the TRS leader said in a contemptuous tone.
‘Conspiracy by Andhra leaders’Alleging that the leaders of Andhra had planned to exploit Telangana (Hyderabad state) in their confinement, Mr. Rao pointed out that it was with that view they had hatched a deep-rooted conspiracy even when getting separated from Madras province.
They had instigated leaders in Kannada and Marathi-speaking areas of Hyderabad to demand separation so that there was not much opposition to their plans here, he noted.
The attitude of Andhra leaders in the face of the Centre’s decision to bifurcate the State and scuttle statehood to Telangana proved the adage that all those who were born in Lanka were demons, the TRS chief said.
