Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday predicted that the TDP would romp home in all elections in future.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, Mr. Naidu said the Nandyal voters delivered a historical verdict. The government won their heart with developmental work and welfare activities. The people reposed faith in the government. The government would strengthen the development and welfare activities and take them to the next level, he said.

The TDP too was in Opposition for 10 years. But it never stooped to such a level as to file petitions and cases against the government on every front. Also, the YSR Congress’ role in the Assembly was not praiseworthy. The people silently observed its president YS Jagan’s objectionable comments, his functioning style and his deeds as the Opposition leader. The victory in Nandyal proved beyond doubt that the people were with the Telugu Desam, he said.

“Hereafter, the TDP will win all the elections. Extra efforts are required to tackle the Opposition party, which failed to play a constructive role. Mr. Jagan is very enthusiastic of going for elections. Let him ask his MPs to resign and go for elections. He has been challenging for quiet some time.”

Mr. Naidu said the government would play a historic role. Good governance, development and welfare would top its agenda. It would strike a balance between development and welfare.

Saying Mr. Jagan wanted to change the name of Nandyal as Pulivendula, Mr. Naidu said the people were against it. In fact, Rayalaseema got its name at a meeting held in Nandyal. Also, Nandyal played its role in the election of a Prime Minister.
