TDP to go by one opinion at all-party meeting

In-camera meeting discusses strategy to corner government

The Telangana TDP will give only one opinion at the all-party meeting convened by the Union government on Telangana statehood issue on December 28 even if two representatives attend the meeting, say the party leaders.

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu convened in-camera meeting with the Telangana TDP leaders at Regadi Maddikunta village of Sultanabad mandal during his camp as part of ‘Vasthunna meekosam’ padayatra on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by MP Ramesh Rathode, legislators, MLCs and other important leaders of the region.

The meeting discussed the strategies to be adopted during the all-party meeting on Telangana issue and grill the Central government.

Talking to newsmen, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Kadiam Srihari and others said that they had discussed the strategies to corner the Union government on the statehood issue. They said that the party president would also collect the opinion of Seemandhra leaders on Wednesday in Karimnagar and announce the party decision on December 27 after conducting the party politburo meeting. They said that they would go by one opinion on Telangana with the letter issued by their party president even if the party sent two representatives.

Asked if Seemandhra leaders opposed their decision, they said that all the leaders would abide by the party president’s decision.

They also said that they would convince the Seemandhra leaders.
