In a bid to spread awareness on the welfare schemes launched by the State government, particularly those aimed at the Christian community, Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) Chittoor District Christian Cell, organised a day-long event elucidating on the provisions in place.
Speaking during the ‘Pastors Meeting’, here on Tuesday, Tirupati MLA M. Suguna said the welfare schemes would focus on education, skill development, self employment and housing. “The State government is committed to the welfare of minorities and all necessary steps would be taken to address the prevailing issues,” she added.
Party district president and MLC G. Srinivasulu said that State government would not differentiate between religions and was committed to improve the standard of living of everyone.
Christian Cell district president Y. Praveen said that such awareness campaigns would enable people in utilising the government schemes for their development. With respect to the current issues such as lack of burial grounds/spaces, house sites etc., Mr. Praveen along with the leaders assured to look into the issue at the earliest.
