TDP leaders have upped the ante against the NDA government ahead of the crucial parliamentary committee meeting of the party on Sunday.

Six time MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and Guntur West MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy have charged the BJP-led government with not allocating substantial funds for major infrastructure projects, including Amaravati.

Mr. Sambasiva Rao has gone to the extent of saying that the BJP-led government is being dictated by the RSS, and warned that it would meet the same fate as the Congress in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the media here on Friday, Mr. Rao said the people of the State expected special allocations in view of the deficit revenue. The Union Budget had no mention of the new railway zone for the State.

“We (MPs) are ready to resign and we will abide by the decision of the party. The Chief Minister has to take a call on continuing the alliance with the BJP. We hope the Chief Minister will take a decision on Sunday,” Mr. Rao said.

He, however, lauded the Budget for several farmer-friendly measures, including the proposal to fix MSP at one-and-a-half times the production cost, interlinking of 450 wholesale markets under E-Nam, allocation of ₹1,400 crore for the betterment of the living conditions of the poor, and 85 lakh free gas connections.

Mr. Venugopala Reddy came down heavily on the NDA government and said gross injustice had been done to the State.

“If the Congress has committed a historical blunder by bifurcating the State after closing the doors of Parliament, the BJP has dealt a blow openly,” Mr. Reddy said.
