It will coincide with Telangana March called by TJAC
Coinciding with the Telangana march called by the Telangana Joint Action Committee, the Samaikyandhra Vidyarthi Joint Action Committee (SVJAC) has called for a counter-march to the State capital to impress upon Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to stall the T-JAC march and ensure the smooth conduct of the global biodiversity meet.
Leading the State meet at Acharya N.G.Ranga Bhavan here on Thursday, SVJAC State convener D.V. Krishna Yadav said, “Students from 14 universities in 13 districts of Seemandhra will reach Hyderabad by all modes of transport well before Sunday to reach Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum to the Governor.”
The Telangana march had been timed to subject the Union and State governments to embarrassment and tarnish the ‘Brand Hyderabad’ image, he felt and urged the Centre to immediately put an end to the uncertainty by making a clear-cut announcement in favour of united Andhra Pradesh.
Samaikyandhra Political Joint Action Committee convenor M. Samuel said the Centre should accept the sixth recommendation of the Sri Krishna Committee. Honorary president P. Narasimha Rao said the rapid development witnessed in Hyderabad since Independence was a result of the collective efforts of people from all regions.
Any move to disturb united Andhra Pradesh would go against the interests of the people and ‘render Seemandhra backward by 100 years, he cautioned. Samaikyanadhra Udyama JAC convener G. Ravikumar said, “Krishna delta has been denied its rightful share of water even when the State is united. It will turn barren if the State is divided.”
