Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao on Saturday said that top priority had been accorded to developing roads in the State on a par with international standards aimed at industrial development, for which the TDP government was prepared to spend several thousands of crores.
After inaugurating the bridge over the Neeva river on the Tirupati-Bengaluru National Highway, built at a cost of Rs 6.75 crore, on the outskirts of Chittoor, the Minister addressed a public gathering. He said that laying of new roads or widening the existing ones was essential to facilitate industrial growth. Forest Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy said that by maintaining top-class roads, Andhra Pradesh would compete with any other State in the country.
