Collector Siddarth Jain on Wednesday made whirlwind visit to various mandals in Madanapalle division and inspected the ongoing Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi Punganur Branch Canal works.
Accompanied by senior officials of district administration and HNSS officials, Mr Siddarth Jain conducted the inspections in a bus. Expressing his dissatisfaction at the slow pace of works on the canal, he sought the engineers to speed up works immediately, and set to goal for completion of the project before May 31 and the tunnel works within 90 days, in order to pump waters to Chittoor district as per plan from August-end.
The Collector directed the HNSS engineers to prompt the contractors to stick to their work targets.
