Speaker Kodela Sivprasada Rao on Friday launched Action 2015, as part of a global campaign to promote United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at Kalvakunta near Narsaraopet.
‘Action 2015’ is a global campaign in all member countries of United Nations launched across the globe on Friday to popularise Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be adopted and endorsed by all UN Member Nations in the coming UN General Assembly. The UN endorsed Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in 2000 to achieve targets on increased inequality, extended poverty, climate change etc. Launching the programme, Dr. Sivaprasada Rao said the Sustainable Development Goals were essential to end poverty and hunger and to ensure total sanitation and better health for all.
The State-level programme was organised by Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (WNTA), SEEDS, DBRC, LAMP, World Vision, PARA, SEESS and DBSU.
