Describing TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao as arrogant and a cheater, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu said his party would stay put in Telangana and the poor and downtrodden would protect it.
Addressing an impressive public meeting ‘Mahagarjana’ here on Wednesday, Mr. Naidu said it was the TDP that gave political representation to SCs, STs and BCs for the first time. The party made it clear that it would make Chief Minister one among the BCs in the new Telangana State.
“The TDP will be victorious in Warangal and in Telangana. The party will give more seats to BCs and other downtrodden sections. A socially equitable Telangana will be possible only under the TDP and none else,” he asserted amidst cheering crowds.
Lashing out at KCR, Mr. Naidu urged people not to believe in a person who keeps changing his stand time and again. Voting for TRS would only result in feudal system, but voting for TDP would bring government of the poor.
KCR claimed he was part of the decision on Telangana and later said Congress deceived him. He went back on his word of making a Dalit Chief Minister. He never fought for Telangana’s problems but only hoodwinked people, Mr. Naidu added.
“KCR and his family members have been looting Telangana. If you give them power, you will lose everything . Think well and protect the TDP, the party of the poor that developed the region,” Mr Naidu said.
During the TDP regime, the Devadula, SRSP, flood flow canal were initiated. More road network to villages was developed and more school buildings came up.
“I have never spoken against separate Telangana. I gave letter in support of separate Telangana despite much pressure and never went back. Now that you got Telangana State, the BCs, SCs and STs who form majority of the population should have political representation. Until I make a BC a Chief Minister, I will not rest. I will not go out of Telangana and fight KCR,” Mr. Naidu said.
All important leaders of the party from Telangana region – L Ramana, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, R Prakash Reddy, Mothukupalli Narasimhulu, Nama Nageswar Rao, D Sitakka, G Sudha Rani and several others were present.
